Awards & Recognition

BUSINESS OF CHARACTER AWARDS

Do you know a local business whose leadership inspires a commitment to good character and work ethic in its professional culture? United Way of Martin County's Business of Character Award is presented each October to a business whose leadership and staff promotes, inspires and demonstrates, in its professional culture and climate, a commitment to good character and work ethic.

Employee Pillar of Character Awards

There are numerous people in the community who go above and beyond their job description on a daily basis because of their strong values, but they rarely receive the recognition they deserve.

The Employee Pillar of Character Awards provide an opportunity for colleagues and employers to nominate these workers. Colleagues and employers nominate workers who they think exemplify the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Caring, Citizenship, Fairness and Responsibility.

Joe Kordick Youth Character Awards

Each year, CHARACTER COUNTS! plays host to the Joe Kordick Youth Character Awards to honor students whose lives and achievements demonstrate an enduring commitment to any or all of the Six Pillars of Character.

Student of the Week

CHARACTER COUNTS! recognizes one student per week during the school year for exemplifying good character through its Student of the Week Award program. Each student is selected by their teachers for demonstrating one or more of the Six Pillars of Character.
