LAURIE AND MARC'S STORY

When asked about why she donates to United Way, Laurie Gaylord, Superintendent of the Martin County School District and board member at United Way of Martin County, stated, “I think the United Way is that community spirit, they invest in many different aspects of the community, so for me it’s important.” The Martin County School District partners with United Way on many different programs that help the young students in this community.

Marc Gaylord, an attorney at The Law Offices of Mark R. Gaylord, P.A., donates to United Way because, “the United Way is kind of like the gatekeeper.” As Marc points out, “there are various charities in Martin County. However, the United Way kind of sifts through all that and helps all those charities.”
