As temperatures are forecast to drop below 40 degrees for more than 2 hours, we will open a Cold Weather Shelter to ensure members of our community have a safe, warm place to stay.
We are seeking compassionate volunteers to assist with supporting the shelter and its residents.
Volunteer Details:
- Date: Sunday, February 1
- Location: Gertrude Walden (601 SE Lake St, Stuart)
- Shifts: 2-hour slots from 8 AM to 8 PM
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting attendees with basic needs
- Preparing or distributing food
- Serving as a chaperone/monitor on-site
- Remaining awake and alert for the duration of the shift
- Providing a calm, respectful, and compassionate presence
Additional Information:
- Snacks and water will be provided for volunteers
- Security will be on-site
