Join the volunteer movement!

Martin Volunteers assists residents in finding the volunteer placement that meets their needs. Opportunities are gathered from nonprofits and public agencies that want to utilize the skills of volunteers to help them meet their goals. We have fun, meaningful and rewarding volunteer opportunities waiting for you! So come on and join the volunteer movement!
 
To get started, complete the two steps below.  Once we receive your completed application, we will contact you.  We can't wait to find you a fulfilling way to give back to our community!

Step 1 - Fill out a volunteer applicaton

Step 2 - Browse volunteer opportunities

We will contact you once we have received your application but, in the meantime, browse our current volunteer opportunities and see if something stands out!  Feel free to mention which opportunities sound interesting to you during our initial phone call! 
 
  • Gertrude Walden Childcare Center needs volunteers to assist school aged children with virtual learning. Ability to work one on one or in small groups. Help is needed Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 12 pm and they are located in Stuart, FL. Contact Kathleen Stacey at kstacey@unitedwaymartincounty.org or at 772-283-4800 x225 for more information. 
  • The Council on Aging of Martin County at the Kane Center needs volunteers to help with Meals on Wheels “Hot Box”. Must be able to lift 5-10 pounds. Work will be outside. Help is needed Monday – Friday, 9 am – 12 pm and they are located in Stuart, FL. Contact Kathleen Stacey at kstacey@unitedwaymartincounty.org or at 772-283-4800 x225 for more information. 
  • Martin County Healthy Start needs volunteers to assist in packaging diapers to hand out to clients at their Diaper Pantry located in Stuart, FL. Must be able to lift 10+ pounds and must be available to prepare ahead of diaper distribution days. Bilingual is a plus. Help is needed Mondays 1-4 pm; Tuesdays 12-5 pm; Wednesdays 1-5 pm; and Thursdays 9 am – 5 pm.   • Martin County Healthy Start needs volunteers to collect diapers for their diaper pantry. While all sizes of diapers are appreciated, larger sizes are especially needed, specifically sizes 5 &6). Diapers can be dropped off to their Diaper Pantry in Stuart, FL. Contact Kathleen Stacey at kstacey@unitedwaymartincounty.org or at 772-283-4800 x225 for more information. 
  • The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast needs volunteers to help maintain museum cleanliness through the day, host activities and workshops, and assist with office organization. Background check required. They are located in Jensen Beach, FL. Help is needed Tuesdays 9 am – 1 pm; Wednesdays 10:30 am – 2:30 pm; Thursdays 9 am – 1 pm; and Fridays 9 am – 1 pm.   • United Way of Martin County in Stuart, FL needs volunteers to help sew cloth masks for front line employees and at-risk residents in Martin County. Fabric can be provided and an instruction video can be accessed at www.unitedwaymartin.org. If you are unable to sew, you can still help by cutting fabric for those volunteers who can sew. Help is needed any time and can be done at home. Simply drop off the finished project in the drop box outside of the United Way office in Stuart.   • United Way of Martin County in Stuart, FL needs volunteers to help make greeting cards for homebound, isolated seniors to let them know someone is thinking of them. Cards will be distributed to senior through Meals on Wheels. Help is needed any time and can be done at home. Simply drop off the finished project in the drop box outside of the United Way office in Stuart.   • United Way of Martin County in Stuart, FL needs volunteers to help collect school supplies for students in Martin County through the Tools for Success Program. Specific supplies needed are #2 Pencils, Crayola Crayons (24 count), and Crayola wide markers (8 or 10 count). Simply drop off the finished project in the drop box outside of the United Way office in Stuart or order online and ship directly to the United Way office.   • Florida Oceanographic Society in Stuart, FL needs volunteers for a beach clean up on Stuart Beach. This is a great activity for a group of volunteers.   • St. Vincent DePaul in Hobe Sound, FL needs volunteers to help with a food drive for their food pantry. Specific items needed are canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned meats, cereal, peanut butter and jelly. Items can be dropped off to their location in Hobe Sound.   • Caring Children Clothing Children in Stuart, FL needs volunteers to help collect new socks and underwear for underprivileged school-aged children. Drop off items are located throughout Martin County and items can also be dropped off at their main location.   • Little Lights Dentistry in Stuart, FL needs volunteers to help collect PPE, specifically gloves and masks for their dental clinic. Items can be dropped off at their location in Stuart. Contact Kathleen Stacey at kstacey@unitedwaymartincounty.org or at 772-283-4800 x225 for more information.
