Tikis on the Terrace

TIKIS ON THE TERRACE CANCELLED

In light of the recent progression of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and growing concerns about large public gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Tikis on the Terrace that was scheduled to take place on Friday, March 27 at the Mansion at Tuckahoe.

While this is incredibly disappointing, our highest priority is the health and wellbeing of our community, team members, all who support United Way of Martin County and all we serve.

Funds that have already been received for Tikis on the Terrace will support the Tools for Success school supply initiative – making sure local children start school ready to learn with the supplies they need on day one.

No matter what is happening in the world, the needs in our community don’t stop and neither do we; as long as there are unmet needs here in Martin County, we will be fighting to overcome obstacles to make our community a better place.

Many of you have very generously offered to donate your registration fee as a way to support Tools for Success. If you would like to donate your registration, no action is needed. However, if you would like a refund, please let us know by April 30 by calling our office at 772-283-4800. Additionally, we will be holding an online auction featuring the items that generously donated for the event. Details will be announced soon.

For nearly 50 years, United Way of Martin County has been here to help local people during their darkest hours – whether recovering from a natural disaster, a personal financial setback or an unforeseen medical emergency.
United Ways have a history of coordinating community responses to offer hope and help when it is most needed. As we all anxiously watch the progression of COVID-19  and anticipate the potential impacts, we want you to know that, whatever the outcome, United Way of Martin County will be here to support our community.

In its first year Tools For Success provided over 8,300 children with supplies for their classroom, saving Martin County families over $58,000. This program has a lofty goal of supporting all Martin County schools by year five.
