The United Way of Martin County recently announced that its Director of Philanthropy, Elisabeth Glynn, has earned the prestigious Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification from CFRE International. Glynn joins over 7,200 professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation, which is the highest certification for fundraising professionals.
Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International which include tenure in the profession, education, and demonstrated fundraising achievement. They have also passed a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive, and have agreed to uphold Accountability Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights.

Elisabeth has a rare gift for communicating what we do and why it’s important to our supporters at all levels, and for turning that support into action. Her new designation symbolizes what we already know; that she is highly skilled and highly valued in her work guiding development for our organization,” United Way of Martin County President/CEO Carol G. Houwaart-Diez said.
Prior to joining United Way of Martin County in 2015, Glynn served in various positions in the nonprofit field, including director of community relations at the Ann Stork Center, communications manager of the South Florida affiliate of Gilda’s Club Worldwide and executive director of the Stuart Air Show. Glynn currently serves on the board of LEADERship Martin County and the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University New Orleans.
