Born Learning Trail - Kickoff

Learning happens everywhere a child goes, but parents, grandparents and caregivers may not always know how to support that learning. 

That won’t be the case at three parks in the City of Stuart - Flagler Park, Shepard Park and the Guy Davis Sports Complex.  United Way of Martin County in partnership with the City of Stuart, Cleveland Clinic Martin Health, Pratt & Whitney and SouthState Bank, created outdoor interactive early learning trails to help parents and caregivers turn excursions into fun learning moments. 
 

United Way of Martin County spread holiday cheer for people facing hard times

Despite all of the challenges that threatened to play Grinch with holiday toy donations, the Christmas magic supply chain was at full capacity at the United Way Holiday Project.  

For more than 30 years,  United Way of Martin County has helped bring Christmas to thousands of children and their families facing hard times by providing toys and a traditional holiday meal, and this year was no exception.

The United Way of Martin County Alexis de Tocqueville Society is made up of individuals who have committed to making a significant investment in the future of Martin County – they set the standard for charitable giving. Collectively, their generosity represents 40 percent of United Way of Martin County’s annual campaign with gifts that total more than $1.4 million.

United Way of Martin County Foundation announces John Loewenberg has joined its board

United Way of Martin County Foundation has announced John Loewenberg has joined the United Way of Martin County Foundation Board of Directors. Loewenberg has had extensive senior management experiences with IBM, Mass Mutual, Capital Holding, Aetna, and Connecticut Mutual.  After retirement, he became very active with the Venture Capital firm Safeguard Scientifics.    

United Way of Martin County honors senior volunteers at a drive-through event

The sun shone brightly as United Way of Martin County honored over 120 senior volunteers during a drive-through recognition event – the first of its kind for Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers in Martin County. This unique event, sponsored by Amicus and Humana of Stuart, celebrated the impact of volunteers age 55 and older who contributed 63,880 hours of donated time in 2019, saving local nonprofit agencies $1,624,468.

United Way of Martin County’s Elisabeth Glynn earns certified fund raising executive designation

The United Way of Martin County recently announced that its Director of Philanthropy, Elisabeth Glynn, has earned the prestigious Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification from CFRE International. Glynn joins over 7,200 professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation, which is the highest certification for fundraising professionals.
