STUART, FL – In its 35th consecutive year of making Christmas dreams come true, United Way of Martin County once again orchestrated a heartwarming Holiday Project, ensuring that thousands of local children woke up to the joy of presents underneath the tree.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of local businesses, community organizations, individual donors, sponsors, devoted volunteers and Santa, of course, the United Way Holiday Project was a resounding success. The result? A magical Christmas morning for countless families in need.

U.S. Sugar has donated food and toys to communities across Florida this holiday season. They have partnered with multiple charitable organizations, including the United Way, churches, and schools to help spread holiday cheer to Florida.

United Way of Martin County proudly recognizes the outstanding achievements of Ashleigh Polhemus, a dedicated and altruistic 15-year-old student, honored with The President's Volunteer Service Award. This national accolade recognizes accomplishments in service and is run by the AmeriCorps Seniors, a program of United Way of Martin County, and the Points of Light Foundation. 

In a decade-long commitment to helping Martin County families, the Zweben Law Group proudly announces its 10th annual partnership with United Way of Martin County for the Zweben Law Group Bike Drive. This cherished initiative aims to bring extra holiday joy to local families facing financial challenges by gifting 300 brand-new bikes to children in need through the United Way Holiday Project.

United Way of Martin County benefits from the guidance, leadership and advocacy of a dynamic and dedicated 21-member board of directors. The organization welcomes its 2023-2024 executive officers, board members and campaign committee.

Geoff Lieberman, vice president store manager, Macy's Treasure Coast, will serve as chair of the board of directors. Lieberman has been a United Way board member since 2015.

In the true spirit of the saying “It takes a village,” the United Way of Martin County has awarded 44 Community Impact Grants totaling $959,910 for the upcoming year. These funds will support 32 local agencies tasked with implementing various programs aimed at enhancing education, health, and financial stability for residents of Martin County. The grants were presented during the Big Reveal – United Way’s Community Impact Grant Award Celebration – sponsored by Capstone IT and STS Aviation Group.

Learning happens everywhere a child goes, but parents, grandparents and caregivers may not always know how to support that learning. 

That won’t be the case at New Monrovia Park, where over a dozen volunteers painted the town “read” to promote literacy.  United Way of Martin County in partnership with the Martin County Board of County Commissioners and the Martin County CRA created an outdoor interactive early learning trail to help parents and caregivers turn excursions into fun learning moments. 

On a beautiful sunny afternoon at Indian Riverside Park, more than 55 senior volunteers from the United Way of Martin County AmeriCorps Seniors program came together to celebrate their service to the community. The volunteers in attendance represented 20 different nonprofit agencies, all working toward the betterment of Martin County.
